Elevating Orthopedic Excellence to a National Stage
Parvathy-SSKM Gold Medal Exam, organized under the guidance of Dr. Mithun E.R., Orthopedic Consultant and the Organising Secretary, is an esteemed annual event tailored for final-year Ortho PG students pursuing Ms/D.Ortho/Dnb. The inception of this exam dates back to 2017, initially confined to Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry for the first two years. Recognizing its significance and potential impact, the organizing committee made a strategic decision to elevate the competition to a national level, extending its reach to Ortho PG students across India, thereby enhancing its scope and prestige.
2017
- 42 students registered.
- Gold Medal awarded to Dr. Arjun Rajan from Govt. Royapettah Hospital, who received sponsorship for a Fellowship in Arthroplasty.
- Examination panel comprised Dr. S. Muthukumar, Prof. Dr. Sarath K. Rao, Prof. Dr. R. Selvaraj, and Prof. Dr. Rajamani.
- Venue: The Raintree Hotel, Chennai.
2018
- 55 students registered.
- Gold Medal awarded to Dr. Chirag Parsana from Ganga Hospital, accompanied by a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000.

- Dr. John Joseph from Ernakulam Medical Centre secured the Medal and received a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, along with a Fellowship in Nuh-Singapore.

- Dr. Ankit Kumar Garg from Ganga Hospital secured the third position, receiving a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
