Is UFE painful? What will I feel during the procedure? +
UFE is performed under local anaesthesia and mild sedation. You will not feel pain during the procedure. Mild cramping is normal afterwards — similar to period cramps — which settles within a day or two with standard pain medication.
Will I still be able to get pregnant after UFE? +
UFE preserves the uterus. Many women have had successful pregnancies after UFE. However, fertility outcomes depend on individual factors including fibroid size and location, age, and overall reproductive health. Please discuss your pregnancy plans with our specialist during consultation.
How quickly will I see results — will my periods improve? +
Most women notice significantly lighter periods starting from their very next cycle after UFE. Pelvic pain and heaviness typically improve within weeks as the fibroids begin to shrink. Full results are visible over 3–6 months as fibroids continue to reduce in size.
Do I need to be admitted to hospital for UFE? +

What if my fibroids are too large or severe — can I still get UFE? +
Suitability for UFE is assessed case by case based on fibroid size, number, location, and your symptoms. Some severe cases may require surgical intervention (hysterectomy by Dr. Suganya). Our team will review your scans and recommend the best option for your specific situation.
